As expected from a lot of wireless earbuds these days, not only are they great for listening to music and audio, but they can also be used for calls. However, the quality of the microphone and how it picks up audio will vary from device to device, but with iOS 15, Apple will be improving on the AirPods Pro.

In fact, it seems that in the latest beta firmware, Apple has added support for Conversation Boost. For those unfamiliar, Conversation Boost is a feature that will be arriving in iOS 15 that will leverage the beamforming microphones of the AirPods Pro to help boost the level of conversations, as the name implies.

This means that in theory, your voice calls should be clearer and louder with the feature. It will also be useful for those who might have a hearing impairment as the louder volumes should make it easier to hear what’s being spoken during a call. Since the feature has been added in the latest beta firmware, registered developers should be able to access it.

iOS 15 is currently set for a release later this fall. Apple hasn’t specified a release date yet, but it should most likely be available alongside the new iPhones that are expected to be announced this September.
