A couple of weeks ago, Samsung officially announced their brand new foldable phones – the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and the Galaxy Z Flip 3. Given that these phones are using foldable displays, whose tech is still relatively new compared to more traditional flat displays, repairing them seems like they would be expensive, but how expensive?

According to Samsung, an out of warranty repair for the folding screen of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will cost $479, while the Galaxy Z Flip 3’s display will cost $369. As for the external displays of the phones, which are the more traditional flat displays, it will cost $149 for the Fold and $99 for the Flip, which is honestly not too expensive.

Both phones will come with a one year warranty which is par for the course, but the company will also be offering a Samsung Care Plus program which costs $12.99 a month (for either phone) and should you need to repair the screen, it will cost $249 for an out of warranty repair, which is cheaper than what they would normally charge, although we guess the monthly subscription could possibly end up costing you more in the long run.

That being said, while the cost of repair is still expensive, it should be noted that it is actually cheaper than its predecessors, where the Galaxy Z Fold 2 cost $549 to repair while the Galaxy Z Flip 5G costs $499.
