In the coming weeks we expect that Apple will probably launch their new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros. The 14-inch will represent a new display size option, which we wonder if it could replace the 13-inch model, while the 16-inch will be an updated version of the laptop that first launched towards the end of 2019.

That being said, more details such as the possible display resolution for these laptops have been revealed, thanks to references in the latest macOS Monterey beta discovered by MacRumors contributor Steve Moser.

According to the references, there are two new display options listed – 3456×2234 Retina and 3024×1964 Retina. Since these resolutions do not correspond with any of Apple’s current products, it has been speculated that they could be the resolution for the upcoming MacBook Pros.

We can only assume that the first resolution spotted is probably for the 16-inch model, which right now has a 3072×1920 display, while the 13-inch MacBook Pro has a 2560×1600 display. This would suggest that both models could get quite a bit of a resolution upgrade, not that we’re complaining.

Of course, there is no guarantee that these are referencing the new MacBook Pros, but hopefully Apple will have something official to share soon.
