Recently, there was a report that the upcoming Apple Watch Series 7 could be delayed due to production issues. Now it seems that it won’t be the only fall Apple product that might be delayed. According to a new report from DigiTimes, it seems that the highly-anticipated MacBook Pro refresh could be delayed as well.

According to DigiTimes, this is apparently due to the ongoing chip shortages which is why the laptop could be delayed. “The ongoing chip shortages that are in varying degrees may cause the launch of Apple’s upcoming miniLED-backlit MacBook Pros to be scheduled in October or even November, instead of the usual September, according to industry sources.”

For those unfamiliar, Apple has been rumored to launch a pair of redesigned and revamped MacBook Pros possibly this month. It will be offered in 14-inch and 16-inch options and is said to be powered by the M1X chipset. There is currently no official word from Apple on when the laptops will be announced, but Apple was rumored to host multiple events in September to announce them.

It is unclear if this delay simply means supply will be constrained or if Apple will postpone the announcement to a later date. Either way it shouldn’t be an issue since Apple’s events are pre-recorded, but hopefully the company will have more details to share soon.
