One of the advantages of buying into Apple’s ecosystem is that you get to take advantage of the company’s Find My network. This is basically a feature that lets you locate missing devices like AirPods, iPhones, iPads, and so on. Apple even released the AirTag, a tracking accessory that you can attach to non-Apple devices, such as backpacks.

However, if you don’t want to get the AirTag but would love to track your backpack in case it gets lost or stolen, Targus has got your back (pun intended). The company has recently unveiled the Cypress Hero EcoSmart backpack that can actually take advantage of Apple’s Find My network thanks to its built-in tracker.

In a way, you could almost think of it as Targus building its own AirTag, except that the tracker is integrated into the backpack itself which makes it less obvious. The backpack has a built-in battery that can be replaced and recharged over USB, and as per its name, the backpack is made out of recycled materials, approximately 26 recycled water bottles according to the company.

The Targus Cypress Hero EcoSmart back is priced at $150 and the company intends to make it available for purchase in the Spring/Summer of 2022, so keep an eye out for it if you’re looking for a new backpack that offers tracking technology.
