Recent supply chain leaks shared on the Chinese social media platform Weibo by Digital Chat Station have revealed new details regarding Apple’s upcoming iPhone Air 2, which is expected to launch early next year. According to the reports, the device will feature an even thinner 5.2mm thickness, outperforming the 5.6mm profile of its predecessor while maintaining a robust internal architecture.

One of the most notable hardware upgrades involves the camera system. While the original model featured a single rear lens, the iPhone Air 2 is expected to introduce a dual rear camera setup, housing a 48MP primary sensor alongside a 48MP ultrawide sensor. Additionally, the front-facing camera is slated for an upgrade to an 18-inch sensor to enhance selfie quality and video call performance.
Despite its exceptionally slim chassis, battery performance is anticipated to improve significantly. Industry sources suggest the device will pack a 3,500 mAh battery or higher, marking a substantial increase over the 3,149 mAh capacity found in the current generation. To achieve this higher energy density within a thinner frame, analysts indicate that Apple may adopt advanced silicon-carbon battery technology.

Under the hood, processing power will be driven by the next-generation Apple A20 Pro chip, built on an advanced 2-nanometer process. Visual output will rely on a flat 6.55-inch OLED display supporting ProMotion technology for a smooth 120 Hz refresh rate.
While Apple has not officially commented on the leaks, industry insiders note that it remains unconfirmed whether the new model will finally adopt stereo sound, given that its predecessor was limited to a mono speaker setup. As development continues, further details regarding pricing and official availability are expected to emerge ahead of the anticipated launch window next year.
