Apple has officially announced the Apple iPad Mini 8, introducing major hardware upgrades to its compact tablet lineup. Featuring a long-awaited OLED display, a high-performance A20 Pro chip, and an unprecedented IP67 water and dust resistance rating, the new device redefines performance standards for small-form-factor tablets.

Measuring just 5.4 mm thick with bezels that are 24% thinner, the device maintains its signature portability. It upgrades to a Super Retina XDR OLED display that reaches a peak brightness of 1,200 nits—double the previous generation—and offers an optional anti-reflective nano-texture glass.
Powered by the A20 Pro chip, the tablet delivers up to 4.5 times faster AI processing and 2.7 times greater graphic speeds compared to its predecessor. The 512 GB configuration features a dedicated six-core CPU and a dual 32-core neural engine, significantly expanding local processing capabilities.

Imaging features include a 12 MP rear camera with Smart HDR 4 and 4K video recording at 60 fps, alongside a 12 MP front-facing camera optimized for landscape use with Center Stage. Audio is enhanced via Acoustic Display technology, integrating speakers directly into the screen framework. Connectivity improvements feature Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and the proprietary C2 modem for cellular variants, ensuring faster eSIM connections.
Running on iPadOS 27, the tablet integrates deeply with the next generation of Apple Intelligence and Siri AI, processing user context securely through a mix of on-device machine learning and cloud infrastructure.
