We’ve previously reported that Blizzard will be releasing the Diablo 3 public beta this September, and last week some leaked video footage and screenshots of the private beta found its way online (available after the break), which seems to point at the arrival of the public beta pretty soon. Well, the folks over at VG247 have managed to get in touch with Blizzard concerning the status of the public beta, and were told that it is “very close” to beginning. Here’s what the email said:
“We’re getting very close to starting the closed public beta test for Diablo III…You might start seeing some new reports about the beta client as we’ve begun limited external testing with employees and their families, and there is no non-disclosure agreement (NDA) for that. We look forward to sharing more info about the beta test in the near future. Stay tuned.”
In addition to stating that the beta is arriving soon, Blizzard is also encouraging folks who’ve got their hands on the current private beta to share and talk about it as it isn’t confidential. Talk about being open with its fans – hopefully this means we’ll get a lot more Diablo 3 footage over the next week or so.
