AT&T, one of the major four mobile carriers in the US, has just announced that they will be offering a spanking new set of tablets that were specially designed to run on the Windows 8 operating system, where one will be able to enjoy the convenience of a tablet without sacrificing on the level of productivity that one would normally associate with that of a computer. Having said that, there are a couple of new Windows 8-powered tablets that will be offered by AT&T in time for the holiday season, and they are the Asus VivoTab RT and the Samsung ATIV.

First of all the Asus VivoTab RT is touted to be the first quad-core Windows RT 4G LTE tablet in the market, boasting an ultra-thin and light form factor that was specially designed to be the ideal mobile entertainment, productivity and gaming platform without sacrificing on battery life. You will find a 10.1″ multi-touch Super IPS display with Asus TruVivid technology, 32GB of internal memory, NVIDIA’s next-generation quad-core Tegra 3 TE processor, 4G LTE connectivity, and Microsoft Office Home and Student 2013 RT Preview Edition right out of the box.

As for the Samsung ATIV Smart PC, this model will be accompanied by a detachable keyboard-docking system, carry a 11.6″ HD PLS display, an Intel Clover Trail 1.5 GHz dual-core processor and 64GB of internal memory. You will find Windows 8 installed with this puppy, accompanied by a trial version of Microsoft Office 2013.

There is no word on pricing or the exact release date as at press time though, but we are sure that they will be released in due time. [Press Release]
