Back in April, AT&T teased a video for the ASUS PadFone X. This is not surprising since companies usually create such teasers when it comes to an upcoming product. The only problem is that the handset was announced back in January, meaning that given that we’re about 5 months into the year, there’s still no word on when it will launch.

AT&T has done a good job at teasing the handset in the past and even going as far as announcing its specs, but it looks like there’s still no word on a possible launch date. The good news? Well AT&T has released yet another teaser video, so perhaps if you wanted to frustrate yourself a bit more, you can check it out in the video above.

For those unfamiliar with the ASUS PadFone X, it’s basically a device which combines a smartphone and a tablet into a hybrid device of sorts. We’re not talking about a phablet here, but rather two separate devices that can be combined together. The main component of the PadFone X is the smartphone itself.

It could be thought of to be the brain of the entire setup. It’s essentially a smartphone but when plugged into the tablet accessory (which is really just a big screen), the entire setup becomes a full fledged tablet and users can use it to surf, play games, and etc. Given that the phone powers the tablet, this also means that users won’t need to subscribe to two data plans or use their phone to create a hotspot.

It’s an interesting device and for those who are in the market for a tablet and a smartphone will probably end up saving money with such a device. However with AT&T refusing to officially releasing the device for whatever reason, we guess it remains a pipe dream for now.
