amiibo-dataAs some of you guys might have heard, Nintendo has recently discontinued several Amiibo figurines which includes Marth, Villager, and Wii Fit Trainer. We’re not sure why the company has decided to do this, but basically if you wanted to get your hands on them, you’ll be hard pressed to find them in the shops.

That being said, new rumors have surfaced which seems to suggest that the Fox and Samus Amiibo figurines are close to being discontinued as well. This is according to a post by The Tanooki in which they allegedly got a photo of Target’s inventory system. In the photo, it shows that both the Fox and Samus figurine have been listed as discontinued at the retailer’s Laurel Maryland location.

It is possible that other Target locations could still have the figurines in stock, but the fact that they have been listed as discontinued is a bit discouraging. We can only assume that based on this rumor that gamers have gone out to buy  said figurines which could see stock levels dip even further.

Nintendo has stated that while some figurines would be discontinued, they will be keeping core characters like Mario. They had also previously stated that they are looking into alternatives for discontinued characters, such as a card version which we have to admit doesn’t sound quite as fun.
