We have all heard that Samsung has been working on the Tizen operating system but there aren’t a lot of products that run this OS just yet. The first smartphone powered by it was supposed to be released in 2014 but apparently it was pushed back to January 2015. While we wait for that smartphone to arrive at least we’ll be able to pick up smart TVs running Tizen. Samsung has confirmed that all of its new smart TVs will run on this nascent operating system.

So there’s one manufacturer that’s not going to make Android TV powered smart TVs just yet. One of the reasons why Samsung says it adopted Tizen for the entire lineup is because the smart TVs will now be able to easily sync with other devices.

Supported methods include Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth Low Energy and Samsung’s own Smart TV software which searches for nearby Samsung devices and connects to them. Samsung says this will enable users to watch live broadcasts and TV on their mobile devices on their home network even if the TV set is turned off.

It was also announced a week back that Samsung’s smart TVs will be the first non-Sony devices to support PlayStation Now streaming, these TV sets will be able to stream PlayStation games from the cloud. Integrated access has also been confirmed for Samsung Sports Live and Milk Video.

Expect Samsung to show off its new smart TVs at the Consumer Electronics Show 2015 a few days from now.
