LG_WATCH_URBANE3Earlier this week, LG surprised us with the announcement of the LG Watch Urbane, the company’s latest attempt at creating smartwatches. The wearable is essentially the metal and more luxurious version of the LG G Watch R, but unfortunately in terms of pricing and availability, LG kept mum.

However over in the UK, online retailer Expansys has opened up the pre-orders for both the gold and silver versions of the watch and has priced it at £299.99 which is about $462 after conversion and safe to say a lot more expensive than the LG G Watch R. It also makes it more expensive than Apple’s entry-level Apple Watch which is expected to be priced at $350.

Expansys does not mention when the phones will begin shipping, but customers interested can place their pre-orders in which hopefully a release date will be announced soon. During LG’s announcement of the watch, they did not mention anything about the price or its release date, but the device will be at MWC 2015 so perhaps we will learn more then.

We have to admit that the price is a bit steep, but at the same time it does look pretty good, but if you’d rather not pay $462 for a smartwatch, grabbing the LG G Watch R and spending a couple of dollars on sandpaper should net you the same effect, sort of.
