We reported a couple of weeks back that it was possible for Microsoft to launch a 1TB version of the Xbox One in the very near future, an announcement was expected at E3 2015 next week but Microsoft isn’t going to make us wait till then. The company today formally unveiled its 1TB Xbox One and as you might have guessed, the only thing that’s different is the onboard storage. There is, however, the new controller you’ve all been hearing about.

Rumors of the new controller surfaced a few weeks back and even though Microsoft didn’t say anything officially about it, many came to believe that the new controller would soon be launched.

It’s most certainly here. The 1TB Xbox One includes the new wireless controller which features a standard 3.5mm headset jack. Microsoft has said that it will start shipping this Xbox One model in the United States from June 16th, it costs $399.

For a limited time the company is going to bundle this with a copy of Halo: The Master Chief Collection, so if you pick up the 1TB Xbox One on or soon after June 16th, you get more bang for your buck.

Microsoft has also announced that the 500GB Xbox One will now get a permanent price cut, it will be sold for $349, that’s $50 less than what the PS4 sells for. However Sony is expected to unveil a 1TB PS4 soon as well so it may also cut the price of the 500GB version.
