Oculus-Rift-5Last year we got our hands on the Oculus Rift developer’s kit and if you were hoping the final version of the device would look a lot more sleek, you can rest assured that it will. The company has officially revealed the consumer version of the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset and boy does it look a lot more sleek than its developer kit.

Bundled together with the headset is a small table-top camera that is used to help track your head movement. Interestingly enough it also seems that Oculus has teamed up with Microsoft and thanks to this partnership, an Xbox One controller will be bundled together with the headset as well.

Oculus-Touch-2The headset will also feature a pair of removable headphones, but this is still an improvement over the developer’s kit which required users to put on a separate pair of headphones, so safe to say that the consumer version of the Oculus Rift has come a long way in terms of design and ergonomics.

Now aside from the Xbox One controller, the company also revealed the Oculus Touch which is a pair of controllers that will allow players a way to interact with their virtual reality games like never before. These controllers certainly look nothing like the concept image we saw the other day, but how it will actually function remains to be seen.

Pre-orders of the Oculus Rift headset will begin later this year and customers can expect them to begin shipping out in Q1 2016.
