Many of you might be interested in what OnePlus has to offer this year, the nascent smartphone manufacturer emerged on the scene last year with the OnePlus, an affordable smartphone with impressive specifications. The company has already confirmed that this year’s handset will be a bit more expensive than its predecessor and without confirming the exact price, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has said that the new handset will cost “under $450.”

Now that’s quite a vague statement, for all we know the handset could cost $449.99 or $400, but it’s the only idea of the price that we have right now.

In a post on the company’s official Google+ page Lau is quoted as saying “Honestly, it’s never been about the price. We simply make the best smartphones we can, and we go from there.”

That might not be entirely true since one of the reasons why the OnePlus One got so much attention last year was due to the fact that it offered impressive specifications at a very competitive price. If you take out the price advantage you take away one of the biggest reason that people have to talk about your device.

OnePlus has already confirmed that the next handset will be powered by the Snapdragon 810 processor, will feature a USB Type-C port and might also have a fingerprint sensor.

The company is going to unveil its new handset in the near future.
