It’s not like there haven’t been reports in the past about Android Wear possibly getting support for iOS in the future, this would mean that Android Wear smartwatches would become compatible with the iPhone, but there has been no progress on that front so far. However some new evidence shows that Android Wear iOS launch might not be that far off.

An upcoming Huawei smartwatch was listed on Amazon recently and it was mentioned in the listing that the smartwatch is compatible with “iOS 8.2 or higher,” this doesn’t make any sense unless support is on the way for iOS devices.

One can make the case that the listing might have mentioned this in error, and that’s certainly possible, but it’s not like there haven’t been whispers in the past about Android Wear eventually getting support for iOS.

Moreover, AndroidPolice hears from a “reliable source” that iOS support will soon be rolled out for Android Wear. Apparently soon means very soon, an announcement of some sort might be made at IFA 2015 which takes place in the first week of September.

Those who own Android Wear smartwatches and would like to use them with an iPhone will certainly be waiting for this to happen, this would also mean that the Apple Watch would get some tough competition and competition is certainly good for all parties involved.
