mixstikLast year a group calling themselves Magnified Self launched a Kickstarter project for a smart cocktail shaker called the B4RM4N. Unfortunately the project fell through, but it has not stopped them from trying their hands at yet another smart cocktail maker. Dubbed the MixStik, this little device should turn you into a relatively competent bartender.

How it works is relatively simple. As you can see in the photo above, the MixStik is a stick with several LED lights. When paired with the smartphone app, the lights will change color to determine how much of each alcohol or mixer needs to be poured, so just like a measuring stick, you will pour that particular liquid until it covers the light, then move on to the next, and so on.

The app is also pretty handy in the sense that you can tell it what kind of drinks you have available, and it will try to suggest drinks that will be able to take advantage of what you have at home, saving you the effort of having to run to the store. As it stands, the MixStik has yet to go live but as the company notes on its website, they are planning on launching a Kickstarter for it.

Hopefully this time round it will be successful, but we suppose with it being priced at $39, it will certainly be more accessible than its predecessor, the B4RM4N which was priced between $100-$150.
