xbox-one-hands-on-review-07Last week Microsoft confirmed that come November, they would be releasing an update for the Xbox One console that would introduce backwards compatibility to it. This is a feature that was announced during E3 2015 earlier this year, and it will also be one of the many changes that Microsoft will bring to the console as part of an update.

That being said, during an appearance of Major Nelson Radio, Xbox engineering boss Mike Ybarra also revealed that the console will be given a speed boost. It won’t be an overall speed boost, but rather certain “popular gaming features” would be loaded up about 50% faster. There were no specifics by Ybarra did promise a “new level of speed and responsiveness”.

According to Ybarra, he was quoted as saying, “Windows 10 for desktop PCs has incredible momentum right now. We’re going to bring all of that efficiency to Xbox One.” Whether or not Microsoft will actually achieve that is a different story, but for now it does sound like it could be a pretty promising update.

There was no specific date provided on when the update will be released, but we do know that it will be released in the month of November so do check back with us then for details about its release and availability.
