samsung logoWith 2015 coming to an end, this means that we have 2016 to look forward to which in return also means that we have a ton of new devices, like computers, smartphones, and tablets to look forward to. That being said one of the hotter devices we can expect earlier in the year is Samsung’s Galaxy S7 and now it seems that we have a bit more info about Samsung’s plans.

According to a report from Reuters, they have been tipped by their source that apparently Samsung has planned an initial production run of 5 million units of the upcoming handset. This production run is said to contain both variants of the phone, meaning the more traditional flat-screened handset, and the version with the curved edges.

The numbers are supposedly broken down to 3.3 million units of the flat-screen model, and the remaining 1.6 million or so units are for the curved display model. It’s interesting that Samsung has decided that its flat variant is more popular, especially when you consider reports from earlier this year that the curved version of the Galaxy S6 was in such high demand.

Unsurprisingly Samsung declined to comment on the rumors so do take it with a grain of salt for now. However 5 million units is rather ambitious but with the popularity of the lineup that we’ve seen over the years, there’s a good chance Samsung will be able to sell the bulk of it.
