lightning_louis_vuittonLuxury fashion brands like Gucci, Hermes, Prada, and Louis Vuitton sometimes turn to famous models to help model their products and spread awareness. However interestingly enough in what seems to be a new marketing campaign, Louis Vuitton has turned to a character not from the real world, but from the virtual one.

Recent posts by Louis Vuitton’s creative director Nicolas Ghesquière on Instagram has revealed a character that we’re sure many are familiar with: Lightning from Final Fantasy XIII in which the character can be seen modeling a couple of Louis Vuitton’s handbags from the fashion house’s Spring-Summer 2016 collection.

However if you thought that this is a first, it really isn’t. Back in 2012, other characters from Final Fantasy XIII have modeled clothing from Prada in Japan. We have to admit it looks rather odd that they’re not wearing their armor and wielding their weapons, but it’s an interesting angle and totally appeals to the gamer market.

Ghesquière himself is a fan of the digital world and had previously designed a catwalk for Louis Vuitton that centered around the premise of virtual reality, but what do you guys make of this marketing campaign? As a gamer, does it appeal to you more than it would had they relied on more traditional human models?
