moto 360 sportBack in September, Motorola took the wraps off two new smartwatches, one of which is the Moto 360 Sport. In case the name did not already give it away, basically the Moto 360 Sport is a sportier version of the Moto 360 smartwatch and is aimed at fitness enthusiasts who are looking to keep track of their biometrics and activities.

Now for those who are wondering when they might be able to get their hands on the device, unfortunately it looks like those living in the US will have to wait until 2016 to get it. This is according to a post on Motorola’s blog in which they revealed that the US release date of the Moto 360 Sport will only take place on the 7th of January 2016.

The device will be available via Motorola’s website then, and it is expected to make its way to other retailers like Best Buy along with Motorola’s boutique store in Chicago on the 10th of January. It will also be priced at $299. For those living in the UK and France, you guys can expect to get the device much earlier starting this year December 18, in time for the holidays.

In the meantime to do a quick recap, the Moto 360 Sport features a silicone band that prevents sweat absorption, staining, or fading. It comes with built-in GPS so it knows where and how far you’ve run for, and it will also be able to measure your heart rate. It also sports an improved battery which Motorola claims will be good for an entire day.
