samsung-nx1100-manualThere has been rumors suggesting that Samsung could be exiting the digital camera market. After all the company had recently exited from the German market, so we wouldn’t really be surprised if other countries were to follow suit. However according to a new rumor, it seems that Samsung has some kind of major camera announcement to make at CES 2016.

CES 2016 will be taking place early next year in January. This is an event in which many companies tend to make major product announcements, so we have to wonder if this announcement is to announce that they are planning to exit the digital camera market, or if they’re coming back in full force with some kind of revolutionary camera.

It would be a bit odd to announce their exit at such a big event since usually this kind of announcements can be handled via their website or through press releases, so if we had to venture a guess, a new product announcement would be a more likely scenario. That being said, Samsung’s digital cameras don’t exactly have the same amount of traction and attention that other OEMs like Sony, Nikon, and Canon have, so it is understandable if they are finding the digital camera market a bit tough to compete in.

In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but check back with us in the coming weeks to see if there are any further details that can be shared.
