Heads up Diablo 3 gamers, it looks like Patch 2.4.0 for the game is now live, according to a blog post from the official Diablo 3 website. The release of the patch was scheduled for this week, Tuesday to be exact, although a Diablo 3 community manager did caution that the release could be delayed if it ran into any issues during deployment, but safe to say that did not happen.

As mentioned previously, the patch has also been released for console gamers, so if you play Diablo 3 on the Xbox One or the PlayStation 4, you will be able to download the patch as well and enjoy the latest content together with PC gamers, as opposed to having to wait a bit longer for your patch to arrive.

Now there are some bugs in the patch as you can see in the forums. We’re not sure how widespread they are or if they are only affecting a handful of players, but this is something you’ll want to take note of should you run into any issues while playing the game. However despite that, the patch is a pretty big one and will shake up the game a bit.

It will introduce a new zone in the form of Greyhollow Island. In addition, Blizzard has also expanded certain existing zones. There is also the introduction of Set Dungeons, Empowered Rifts, and the usual host of bug fixes and balances made to the various classes in the game. Some have described the patch as a mini-expansion, so if you have yet to get the patch, maybe you should. In the meantime, you can check out the overview of the patch in the video above.
