Earlier this year the folks at Square Enix confirmed that Final Fantasy IX (Final Fantasy 9) will be released on the PC and mobile devices, which to be honest shouldn’t really be that much of a surprise especially when you consider that the company has released ports of other Final Fantasy titles for PC and mobile in the past.

That being said, what we saw last time was a short trailer for the upcoming port, but the good news is that it looks like the port has finally been completed and will be released soon, according to the folks at Touch Arcade who managed to translate bits and pieces of the video above to glean said information about the game.

In fact on top of that, the video also revealed the creators claiming that the mobile port is faster than the PlayStation original, and how they had to revamp the entire interface to get it working with touchscreen devices. Unfortunately what was not revealed was when the game will be arriving, but based on what was said, it sounds like it could be soon.

In the meantime there are bits and pieces of the gameplay in the video above, so if you’re so inclined, you can watch the entire thing to see the game in action. It runs for 1 hour and 48 minutes, so safe to say that you will probably want to set some time aside to watch it.
