Google Fiber, the company’s gigabit internet service, has already been rolled out in several markets across the country with more being added gradually. According to a new report the company is now offering some of its trusted testers the ability to get a Google Fiber Phone service as well. What this means is that they also get a phone service alongside their gigabit internet connection from Google.

The service is reportedly called Google Fiber Phone and it’s said to closely resemble Google Voice. It allows users multiple numbers, including mobile and landline, to a single number. Google Voice features like voicemail transcriptions and automatic call screening is included as well.

The Washington Post reports that Google has been gradually inviting members of its Google Fiber Trusted Tester program to try out the phone service. The trusted tester program includes Fiber customers who have opted in to try new changes to the service.

Google is yet to confirm that it’s going to offer a Google Fiber Phone service as well but it wouldn’t be surprising at all if it decides to do this. Most rivals in the industry offer triple-play services which include TV, internet and telephone so it would make perfect sense for Google to do the same as well.
