viber-windows-10

It was back in April last year that Microsoft announced that Viber will soon be launching a universal app for Windows 10. Microsoft’s latest OS has been out for a few months now and even though we’re now in the new year there’s no word as yet from Viber concerning the fact of this universal Windows 10 app. It turns out that the company is still working on this app but won’t say when it’s going to arrive.

A Viber app for Windows isn’t going to be something new. In 2013, it released an app just for Windows 8 with some features that were exclusive to that OS.

Despite making the announcement in April 2015 even Microsoft has been quiet about the status of this app, Viber remains tightlipped, the only response that its PR representative gave was that Viber is “still working on the universal app for Windows 10.”

No release timeframe has been provided which means that it can’t be said for sure right now if and when the universal Viber app for Windows 10 is going to be released.

The fact that Viber is still working on it goes to show that it does see some promise in bringing this app to Windows 10, it’s just going to take its sweet time to do so.
