Nintendo’s first mobile game has now been released globally. Nintendo first released Miitomo in Japan earlier this month and just a few days ago it confirmed that the app would be released in the United States and other countries on March 31st. It has followed through on that promise and released the app, which is available on both iOS and Android, for everyone.

Nintendo has collaborated with Japanese mobile studio DeNA on Miitomo. The first mobile game is actually a part of the larger partnership between the two companies that’s focused on creating multiple Nintendo-brand games for mobile devices.

Miitomo appears to be off to a very good start. It was downloaded more than a million times just a few days after its release in Japan and the game is expected to continue with the momentum now that it has been made available for everybody across the globe.

Nintendo announced its intention to start creating games for mobile devices at a time when many started calling its future into question. It’s not exiting the console market, though. The company recently refuted rumors that it was ending production of the Wii later this year and it’s already expected to announce its new console, the Nintendo NX, in the near future.

Miitomo is available as a free download for iOS and Android from the App Store and the Google Play Store.
