Tesla fans are quite excited to see what the company has up its sleeve. The Model 3 has been in development for a few years and it’s going to be the first truly mass-market electric car from Tesla as it’s going to be priced around $35,000. The company has now started sending out invites for its March 31st event near Los Angeles where it’s going to formally unveil the Model 3.

It’s unclear how much of the car Tesla is going to unveil at the event. Company CEO Elon Musk has previously said that he wasn’t sure how much of the Model 3 he’ll unveil at the event later this month, but the invite suggests that at least we’ll get to see the entire body of this new electric car.

Don’t expect to be able to drive off the lot in one soon after it’s launched. Tesla isn’t expected to start producing the Model 3 until next year so it’s going to take a considerable amount of time before you and I can get our hands on one.

The Model 3 is crucial for Tesla as its previous electric cars have been really expensive. A $35,000 price tag excluding state and federal incentives ensures that many people can consider switching to an electric car. It’s not like the Model 3 won’t have any competition, Chevrolet already has a similarly priced electric car on the production line, so it’s going to be an interesting battle between the two companies.
