Xbox Live appears to be facing issues once again. Microsoft has sent out a service alert a short while ago to inform users that matchmaking services on Xbox One are affected. The service alert explains that services impacted by issues include “joining other Xbox Live members in online games.” The company says it’s working to fix the issues.

“Issues with Matchmaking? We’re on it! Our team is engaged and hard at work trying to get everything back to normal. Thanks so much for your patience while we work. We’ll update you again when we know more,” writes Microsoft.

The company also points out that core Xbox Live functionality such as signing in as well as the Xbox Store both remain online and are working as they should. This particular issue is limited to matchmaking on Xbox One only for now.

Xbox Live has been facing quite a lot of issues recently. In some cases, players have not even been able to download and play games. Naturally Xbox owners have heaped criticism on Microsoft as it hasn’t been able to control the frequent Xbox Live issues.

Microsoft’s Larry Hryb a.k.a Major Nelson has hinted at the possibility that the company might compensate Xbox Live users in one way or the other for these frequent issues though nothing has been confirmed so far.
