It is safe to say that the majority of wearables are aimed at general fitness, such as measuring your heart rate when you walk, jog, or run. However if you were looking for more specific wearables, Garmin might have something for you. The company has recently expanded their wearable lineup to include the Approach 40X.

As you can see in the video above, the design of the Approach 40X looks pretty standard for wearables. However the main difference is that it has been designed specifically for golfers in mind to be used on the golf course. It will be able to track stats like how well the wearer is playing a ground, and also offer up assistance when you are trying to make your shot.

It will come preloaded with 40,000 golf courses from all over the world so that users can choose which course they are on so that the wearable can track your stats more effectively. For example if it knows which course you are on, it can tell you the distance to the front, middle, and back of a green, layups, hazards, and more.

It also comes with your standard tracking features that you might expect from fitness wearables, such as GPS, a step counter, calorie tracker, distance travelled, sleep monitoring, also it can also measure the wearer’s heart rate thanks to its built-in heart rate monitor. The Garmin Approach 40X is priced at $250 and is expected to be made available in this quarter.
