There are brands and products out there that you can probably associate with color. For example if you see a blue soda can used in a cartoon or TV show, you might assume it is Pepsi, or Coca-Cola if it is red. The same can be said for software applications, like how Opera’s browsers tend to feature a red theme.

Now there’s nothing wrong with a red theme, it’s just that sometimes users like to have options, and the good news is that if you use Opera Mini on your smartphone, the app’s latest beta introduces the ability to switch color themes. As you can see in the screenshots above, users will now have the ability to choose from different colors.

There will be 6 colors to choose from: the traditional red, green, blue, purple, grey-blue, and black. They also appear to be very Material Design-ish so you don’t have to worry about the new themes standing out like a sore thumb amongst the rest of your Android apps or UI. Note that this is only for the beta version of Opera Mini and it is also only available on Android.

It is unclear if this feature will be brought over onto iOS devices since Opera Mini for iOS does look different from its Android counterpart, but either way we’ll keep our eyes peeled. In the meantime if you want to take part in the beta, you will be able to download it from the Google Play Store.
