oneplus-x_ubergizmo_21Several days ago thanks to a trademark filing, it was revealed that OnePlus registered for the trademark “Dash Charge”. Based on the name and the fact that many smartphones these days are packing some form of fast charging technology, it was speculated that maybe OnePlus could be looking to introduce their own brand of fast charging tech.

However it has now been suggested that maybe OnePlus could be turning to Oppo for their fast charging technology instead. According to recent reports, a certain OnePlus A3000 handset received their 3C certification which revealed the charging standards of the device. Given that Oppo’s Super VOOC Flash Charge also relies on the same 5V/4A power adapter specifications, it has been thought that maybe Oppo’s fast charging tech could find its way into the OnePlus 3.

Fast charging technology is one of the features that many were disappointed did not make its way into the OnePlus 2 last year, so it’s a pretty safe bet that OnePlus will be incuding it this year, but whether or not they will use Qualcomm’s Quick Charge, since the phone is rumored to be powered by a Snapdragon 820, or Oppo’s Super VOOC, or the company’s own “Dash Charge” remains to be seen, so until we hear from OnePlus remember to take it all with a grain of salt for now.
