pokemon go twitterSo it has been about a week since Pokemon GO was officially released, and it looks like the game has proven to be a bigger hit than we had thought. Now we know that Pokemon itself is a very popular franchise, but it seems that Pokemon GO has managed to elevate the game to the point where it could actually be competing with Twitter in terms of daily active users.

This is according to a report by Similar Web which revealed that the number of daily active users on Pokemon GO is catching up and could potentially rival that of Twitter in the near future. As you can see in the graph above, based on their data it seems that Pokemon GO has experienced rather explosive growth.

The report goes on to add that Pokemon GO has high app engagement at 60%, meaning that 60% of those who have downloaded the app use it every single day. We can only imagine what this means for in-game purchases as we’re sure there are more than a handful of gamers who have probably purchased a couple of things.

Of course whether or not Pokemon GO will be able to sustain its growth remains to be seen. Prior to this, Nintendo’s Miitomo experienced some explosive growth but later on things appeared to have cooled off considerably, so we guess we’ll just have to wait and see how Pokemon GO will fare. In the meantime the app has been slowly making its way to markets around the world, so if you don’t have it yet, don’t worry as it should eventually make its way to you.
