nokia-headquarters-logo-sign-001-630x472As you guys might have heard by now, Nokia will be returning to the smartphone market in 2017. However what kind of phone they’ll be making their return with is unknown, although thanks to recently leaked specs, we might have a very rough idea of what kind of device Nokia could be going with.

According to the leaked specs, we’re looking at a phone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, 5.2-inch and 5.5-inch display options with QHD resolution, a metal body, waterproof features, and a Zeiss certified camera. Sounds like a pretty good phone, or at least that would be the case if it were launched in 2016.

Since the Snapdragon 820 has been succeeded by the Snapdragon 821, and with 2017’s flagships possibly sporting the Snapdragon 835, we’re not sure why Nokia is sticking with a Snapdragon 820. It could be due to costs, or it is possible that the rumors aren’t true to begin with.

However we should also remind you guys that Nokia won’t actually be making these phones themselves. Instead they have licensed their brand out to other companies, but presumably Nokia will have some say in the matter on what kind of phone gets to represent their brand. In any case take it with a grain of salt, but we expect more details to be shared at Nokia’s MWC 2017 press conference.
