zelda-targetA recent rumor has suggested that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild might be skipping its speculated March 2017 launch. So the question is, if not March then when? According to a recent listing on Target’s website, it seems that the retailer believes that Breath of the Wild could be launched come 13th of June, 2017.

Now we should note that Nintendo has never specifically stated when the game would be released. It was originally pegged for 2016, but earlier this year the company announced that it would be pushed to 2017 because it was planned to be released for both the Wii U and Nintendo Switch at the same time. This is why some have speculated that it could be one of the Switch’s launch games when the console is officially released in March.

So whether or not it was actually “delayed” is unclear. For all we know June could have been its targeted release date from the very beginning. Either way since there is no fixed date at the moment, fans will just have to remain patient. Nintendo is expected to provide more details about the Switch on the 12th of January, 2017, so perhaps we will learn more about the game’s release date/availability then.
