If you are an avid user of Evernote for the desktop and mobile, you might be pleased to learn that Evernote has announced the release of version 8.0 of its mobile app for iOS devices. However this is a pretty major update because as you can clearly see in the video above, Evernote 8.0 will be bringing a massive design overhaul to the table.

According to Evernote, “With your feature requests in mind, our iOS design and engineering teams set out to reimagine the Evernote experience from the ground up. Evernote 8.0 for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch is our fastest, most elegant iOS app ever.” This include changes like introducing a faster way to find notes, creating new notes, and adding color and formatting options to your notes.

This is done by doing away with the home screen so that users can access their notes faster. This means that when users launch the app, they’ll be able to get right into the thick of things without having to go through various menus. There is also a pretty big green button at the bottom of the screen that lets users create new notes just by tapping on it. Long-pressing the button will allow users to select more options, such as recording audio, capture images, and more.

There are also new formatting options like changing the text size and colors so that users have a way to create headers and separate text from each other. These changes should be live but if you haven’t downloaded the app or the update, you’ll be able to do so via the iTunes App Store.
