Samsung launched its first-generation Family Hub refrigerators last year. They basically have a huge tablet on one door that enables owners to order groceries online, stream music, find recipes and more. Samsung’s new Family Hub 2.0 lineup brings expansion from four to ten models and offers enhanced usability with better app integration and new app partners. The Family Hub 2.0 refrigerators are also capable of responding to users’ voice commands.

Samsung is making Family Hub 2.0 available across its full range of 3 Door and 4 Door French Door model refrigerators. They include features like internal View Inside cameras which quickly lets users determine which items need to be replenished. The refrigerator can add images of those items to the shopping list feature and even allow users to conveniently order them via the Groceries by MasterCard app.

The AllRecipes-powered Recipe app can read recipes out loud with enlarged text so that users can easily multitask in the kitchen as they whip up some new delicacies. Samsung has also added a new user interface to Family Hub 2.0 which lets family members create their own profiles, set avatars, and use the 21.5 inch LED touchscreen as an interactive digital bulletin board.

Samsung has also integrated its advanced voice technology in Family Hub 2.0. Users can issue voice commands to the refrigerator when they want to find out what’s the weather like or if they want to add something to the shopping list.

The Family Hub 2.0 refrigerators will be showcased by Samsung at the Consumer Electronics Show 2017 this week. Pricing and availability will be confirmed later.
