At the end of the first Deadpool movie, it was revealed that Cable will be part of the second Deadpool movie, although exactly who will be picking up that mantle remains to be seen. We had previously heard that Kyle Chandler was up for consideration, and recent reports have suggested that Michael Shannon is one of the frontrunners for the role.

However in a report from Collider from a few days ago, it seems that Hollywood A-lister Brad Pitt has also expressed his interest in the role. The report claims that there was interest on both sides, but the report also suggests that Pitt has since moved on. However Collider notes that since the role is still very much in flux, anything could happen in the future.

They note that Pitt might have his hands full with producing and starring in World War Z 2, but assuming he finds time, it will be a very interesting addition to the cast. Last we heard filming for Deadpool 2 has yet to begin and it wasn’t too long ago that the movie’s original director Tim Miller had dropped out.

David Leitch is now in charge of directing the sequel, who for those unfamiliar was one of the directors of John Wick and was the producer for John Wick 2. Still no word on when we can expect the Deadpool sequel, but given the success of the first movie, safe to say that there’s a lot of hype leading up to its sequel. In the meantime yay or nay on Brad Pitt as Cable?
