Earlier this month we heard rumors that the Samsung Galaxy S8’s pre-orders are expected to begin on the 10th of April. However according to a report from ETNews (via PhoneArena), it seems that the dates have changed and it is now the 7th of April, which apparently is the official date as this was confirmed by Samsung themselves to the Korean media.

However it should be noted that the 7th of April date is for the South Korean market, which means that we’re not sure when other markets will open up pre-orders as well. There’s a chance that it could also be on the 7th of April, but we guess this is something we’ll have to wait and confirm for ourselves later this month.

The report goes on to add that the phone will then be going on sale on the 21st of April which kind of lines up with what we had previously heard. Coincidentally enough the 7th of April is also when LG plans on releasing the LG G6 for the US, so we have to wonder if the timing is coincidentally or if Samsung is trying to steal some of LG’s spotlight.

In any case all the official details should be available towards the end of this month because come 29th of March, Samsung is expected to take the wraps off the upcoming handset, and possibly reveal details like pricing, pre-orders, and availability.
