GIFs offer up a pretty fun way to spice up conversations, which is why many messaging platforms and social media networks have started to add support for GIFs. Now if you’re a Gmail user and would love to add GIFs to your emails, you might want to check out the latest update to Gmail for Android.

According to the latest update, it seems that Google has added support for Gboard’s GIFs to Gmail for Android. For those unfamiliar, Gboard is Google’s standalone keyboard app that is available on both iOS and Android. It allows users to perform searches within the keyboard itself, and adding GIFs to conversations is also one of its features which will now support Gmail.

As you can see in the screenshots above, all users have to do is search for the GIF that they want to post, and it will insert itself directly into your emails. This means that you no longer have to rely on third-party apps to insert GIFs, which could save you a lot of time in the process. However you will need a keyboard that offers GIF support, such as Google’s Gboard, for example.

The update should already be live and apart from the GIF support, there does not appear to be anything new or major, so head on over to the Google Play Store if you have yet to update your app.
