Skype Translator feature comes in handy if you’re trying to have a conversation with someone who speaks a different language. It supports some of the most widely spoken languages and provides users with real-time voice translation. Microsoft continues to improve this feature by adding more languages to the list. The company has now announced that the Skype real-time translation feature has support for the Japanese language.

Skype users across the globe can use this feature to make real-time voice and video calls in Japanese. This is the 10th supported language for this feature which already has support for English, Spanish, French, German, Chinese (Mandarin), Italian, Portuguese (Brazilian), Arabic, and Russian.

If the language you seek translation for isn’t included in the list above, then perhaps you should check out the list of more than 60 languages that Skype supports for real-time translations in text.

Microsoft says that developing Japanese for Skype Translator has been challenging from a technological point of view. Japanese is commonly noted as one of the most difficult languages for native English speakers to learn as it has a completely different grammatical structure and vocabulary.

To try out real-time Japanese translation or any of the other supported languages, users just have to click on the globe icon on the Skype Windows Desktop or the Skype Translator button on the Skype Preview app for Windows 10 and start chatting.
