There has been a lot of speculation about when the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 could be announced. Samsung had previously confirmed that it would be taking place towards the end of August, and sure enough it looks like that is exactly what will be happening. Samsung has recently sent out invites to an event that will be taking place on the 23rd of August.

If you’re wondering why this date sounds so familiar, it is because this is a date that was previously rumored, and it turned out to be true. The invite doesn’t tell us when the phone will be available, but presumably it will be revealed at the event itself. While Samsung does not explicitly mention the Note 8, it is pretty clear from the invite what the event will be about.

It’s hard to tell what the Note 8 will look like based on the invite, but it does seem to tease that the phone could be bigger than its predecessor. As it stands its predecessor, the ill-fated Note 7, had a 5.7-inch display. However with the launch of the Galaxy S8 and S8+, both phones feature displays larger than the Note 7, which means that apart from the S Pen, Samsung needs another way to differentiate the phones.

This is why we have heard that Samsung could be bumping the display size up to 6.4-inches instead. However with its presumably thinner bezels, the phone shouldn’t feel too big in your hands, but we guess we’ll just have to wait and see for when the time comes.
