Despite being announced last year, Android Wear 2.0 only recently started to find its way to compatible devices earlier this year. However there were still some devices missing from the list, such as ASUS’ ZenWatch series, which was recently confirmed to have its update delayed.

ASUS had previously promised that they would deliver the update in Q2 2017, but clearly that has since passed given that we’re now in July. The company later tweeted that the update would arrive in Germany, and now a report from Wareable has confirmed that the update for the ZenWatch 3 will be released on the 11th of July.

According to the publication, “Asus has confirmed that the ZenWatch 3 will get the Android Wear 2.0 update on July 11. The ZenWatch 2 update will be released in two waves, the first in July and the second end of July/beginning of August.” This is in line with what ASUS Germany had previously tweeted, but we guess at least we have a more solid date and time frame to look forward to.

We’re not sure what was with the delay in first place, but we suppose better late than never, right? So if you own an ASUS wearable, then keep an eye out for the update which should be released in the coming weeks.
