If a new report out of China is believed, Apple is going to significantly increase the amount of internal storage that customers can get on the iPhone 8. The company is reportedly going to increase storage options across the board with the iPhone 8. It may even offer storage options as high as 512GB, something that we’ve never seen the company do before for an iOS device.

The report out of China claims that the iPhone 8 is going to be available in 64GB, 256GB, and 512GB storage options. Moreover, the device is also said to come with 3GB of RAM.

One can point out that with 3GB of RAM, the iPhone 8 will be at least one gigabyte short of competing Android smartphones like the Galaxy S8 which have 4GB of RAM. However, Apple has historically distanced itself from the numbers game and has provided enhanced performance by relying on optimization.

Previous reports have suggested that the iPhone 8 is going to be available in 64GB and 128GB variants so this latest report is a bit conflicting in that regard. Apple does offer a 256GB version of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus so it’s not entirely impossible for it to double that for the new iPhone.

Nothing has been confirmed officially at this point in time so take the reports with a grain of salt. Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 8 at some point next month.
