We’ve been hearing reports recently that GoPro has a new action camera in the pipeline. Several leaks have revealed details about this new camera which will be called the GoPro Hero6 Black. The company today confirmed when it’s going to officially launch its new action camera. The GoPro Hero6 Black is going to be officially launched later this month at an event in San Francisco, California.

GoPro today sent emails to the press confirming that it’s going to conduct a launch event this coming Thursday, September 28th. The launch event will take place in San Francisco, California.

The invite doesn’t say which products we can expect to be announced at the event. However, there’s enough evidence now to support the theory that the GoPro Hero6 Black will finally be launched officially.

Reports suggest that the GoPro Hero6 Black will be capable of shooting 4K video at 60 frames-per-second. It may also be capable of recording 1080p video at 240 frames per second. It’s said to be twice as fast compared to its predecessor with better transfer speeds, improved image stabilization, and low light performance.

The camera is expected to cost $499. Reports suggest that it’s going to go on sale the very same day it’s unveiled to the world.

GoPro’s launch event is going to take place on September 28th. CEO Nick Woodman will open the proceedings at 9 am PST.
