With devices like smartwatches, the idea is that we can access information quickly on our wrists, versus having to take out our smartphones, unlock it, and find the app. For example one feature of the Apple Watch is the ability to ask it for weather updates, a feature which we reckon is as basic as they come.

Unfortunately for some Apple Watch owners, it seems that asking the device for the weather will end up crashing it. This is according to a post on Reddit in which more than one Apple Watch user has reported the issue. The good news is that this seems to be a problem that will go away on its own as users are claiming that it is a bug related to daylight savings.

Redditor rgsteele writes, “Okay, I think I’ve figured it out. It’s a bug related to the end of Daylight Saving Time. If I ask for the weather in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, it works. If I ask for the weather in Winnipeg, Manitoba, it crashes. Saskatchewan doesn’t observe DST. I think if a time change is set to occur within 24 hours in the city you’re asking about, it will crash.”

We’re not sure if this method will work but you can try it out if you want. Also while it’s not exactly a bug that will break the watch, we’re sure that this is something Apple will want to look into to prevent it from happening again in the future.
