According to a recent report, LG is said to have sent its upcoming flagship, the LG G7, back to the drawing board. So the question is with the LG G7 potentially being revamped, what could LG unveil at MWC 2018? It seems that LG could be unveiling a new variant of the LG V30 from last year.

This report comes from Korea in which it claims that instead of the LG G7 debuting at MWC, the LG V30 with “enhanced AI” could make an appearance. The handset in question is said to be known as the “V30+‘α’”. It is unclear as to what “enhanced AI” could mean, like could LG be debuting its own digital assistant? Or could they be looking to introduce a separate standalone AI chip inside the phone?

As it stands Google Assistant is more or less available across compatible Android handsets, so we’re not sure how different the handset could be. Also in addition to the “enhanced AI”, it was not mentioned if we could be looking at upgraded hardware, such as the use of the Snapdragon 845 or if the handset in question will remain identical to last year’s LG V30.

We should remind you guys that recently LG had confirmed that the company will no longer release flagship smartphones on an annual basis, so if this rumored LG V30 with enhanced AI were to launch, what does that mean for the LG G7? We suppose we’ll have to wait for some kind of official confirmation, so take it with a grain of salt for now.
