There has been a lot of speculation about the upcoming Battlefield title. EA had previously confirmed that it would be releasing a new Battlefield title this year. Previous reports had suggested that the new title might be called Battlefield 5. EA has now confirmed that the upcoming game is indeed called Battlefield 5 and it has even revealed the official logo of the game through Twitter.

It has been officially confirmed by Electronic Arts that the 2018 addition to this popular franchise will be called Battlefield 5. It has also tweeted the first look at the logo along with a message which reiterates when the full reveal will take place.

EA is going to live stream the Battlefield 5 reveal event on YouTube, Twitch, and Mixer on May 23rd at 1 pm PT and 4 pm ET. The live reveal is going to be hosted by The Daily Show’s Trevor Noah.

The new Battlefield game is the successor to the hugely popular Battlefield 1 title which was set during the first World War. The game was very well received so fans will be interested in seeing how the developer is going to follow up that hit with this year’s title.

Developer DICE said in a recent blog post that the new title’s story campaign is going to follow in the footsteps of its predecessor. It also confirmed that War Stories are returning in which the story progresses by following several protagonists at different stages with each having multiple short missions.

While previous reports had suggested that this title would be set during World War 2, DICE is yet to officially confirm that, but we will find that out for sure once the title is officially revealed on May 23rd.
