A couple of weeks ago EA officially confirmed that Battlefield V is the next installment in the Battlefield franchise, and for those looking for more information about the game and its release date, you’ll be pleased to learn that the official reveal trailer has since been released along with a release date for the game which is set for the 19th of October, 2018.

As per the previous teaser video which hinted at a possible WWII setting, it seems that the speculation was right. The description for the upcoming game reads, “Enter mankind’s greatest conflict with Battlefield V as the series goes back to its roots in a never-before-seen portrayal of World War 2.”

“Take on immersive, all-out multiplayer with your squad in experiences like the vast Grand Operations and the cooperative Combined Arms, or witness human drama set against global combat in the single player War Stories. As you fight in epic, unexpected locations across the globe, enjoy the richest and most immersive Battlefield yet. Never be the same.”

The game will be released on the Xbox One, PS4, and for PC via EA’s Origin platform. There is no mention of whether or not it will be released for the Nintendo Switch, but considering that there has not been any Battlefield game released for any of Nintendo’s platforms, we suppose this doesn’t really come as a surprise. That being said for those who can’t wait to get their hands on the game, pre-orders are now open which will also give gamers early access to the Open Beta when it launches.
